Learning the flute - transverse flute - Prima Music Center

The flute, which belongs to the woodwind family, also known as the flute in Slovenian, is considered one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. We all know the flute from Divji babs, which bears witness to the artistic activity of prehistoric man and is the oldest preserved musical instrument made by man and the forerunner of later flutes.

ABOUT THE FLUTE

The shape of the flute has evolved and changed throughout history. We know different cases from different parts of the world. The flute is also known as a simple musical instrument of shepherds who made their flutes out of wood or branches. According to Hindu tradition, Krishna himself is said to have played it.

However, one of the more popular versions today is the metal transverse flute. Its wooden predecessor in the 17th century then acquired another element – ​​valves, and in the 19th century the metal transverse flute as we know it today was created. The instrument is suitable for performing various musical genres and is known all over the world, which is why we also know many different forms of the flute. Because of its role in the past, it is a special instrument that fills us with energy and inner strength when we play it.

TRANSVERSE FLUTE LESSONS

In the Transverse Flute program, we learn about the musical instrument and its relatives, explore the parts of the instrument, ways of playing and the correct posture of the body, hands and fingers. We learn the correct placement of the lips and breathing with the diaphragm, reading and writing musical notation, and creating a beautiful tone. We encourage students' creativity, learn about different musical styles and genres, and perform music from different eras. We learn from musical primers for the flute or a collection of compositions prepared for the student. We get to know Slovenian folk music, world music and the works of classical masters created for this

instrument, we perform new compositions by Slovenian authors as well as our own, we learn popular compositions of the student's choice. Musical ear, sense of musicianship develops, memory and concentration are strengthened. The possibility of participating and performing with a chamber group and performing at the end of the year concert at the music school.
